My Bucket List - Winter Edition!

Everyone knows that I'm a list person. Honestly,  I can't really even think of a more accomplished feeling than marking my cute little pink highlighter through a task on my to-do list. It not only keeps me on track, but these days I can't really even remember how old I am, let alone what I need to get done - so more importantly it helps me feel like I maybe have my stuff together. Maybe...

I'm jumping on the blog bandwagon and doing a "bucket list" for the upcoming holiday months, or more importantly before BABY! These are just some things that came to mind I would like to have done by the end of January! Maybe since I am posting this somewhere other than on a yellow sticky note in my planner where only my eyes can see, I will be more likely to get it all done. Maybe...
  • Volunteer.... A LOT
  • Try doing the Black Friday shopping, call me crazy!
  • Start and Finish the nursery
  • Empty and clean out our fridge and freezer
  • Attempt one new recipe every week
  • Bake and deliver sweet treats to our neighbors before Christmas
  • Read at least 2 happy, positive books to better myself
  • Take maternity pictures
  • Clean out every closet in our house (YIKES!!)
  • Visit Christmas Village for the first time
  • Try 1 craft or "tip" off Pinterest per month

Wish me luck!

Gender Reveal Party!

Wow, I can't believe we officially know we are having a babyGIRL! It is wild to think how much time has passed since finding out we were expecting. We now have a little over 16 weeks left before Little Miss is HERE and so much to do between now and then! I did buy her bedding from Pottery Barn Kids last week and it's on backorder until November 2nd. I can't wait to get it! Sometime in the next two weeks, the painter will be out to paint then hopefully everything will start falling into place. I feel like these days are just a blur - everything seems so surreal! Excitment is probably an understatement ;-)

On to the details from our party a few weeks ago...

I ordered the invitation from Kati at Blissful Blue Designs. Is it not the sweetest? I have always been a huge fan of the vintage look!
Then I worked with Niki at Ellena's Paper House for the sweet Boy or Girl? banner, cupcake toppers and food tents. I was so pleased with how adorable it all turned out! Then to add a little extra to the vintage feel - I used mason jars as glasses and grabbed these pink and blue stripped straws.
Of course I had to have something setup for everyones gender guesses! Surprisingly it was almost 50/50 between girl and boy!
The menu consisted of:
  • Chicken Ranch Won-Tons
  • Sweet and Sour Meatballs
  • Warm Spinach Dip
  • Taco Dip
  • Mini Crescent Dogs
  • Quiches
  • Gender Cake (made by the sweetest friend of mine!)
  • Cupcakes
Here are my favorites from the night!
This one is my favorite!

Happy Monday sweet friends!

Bump date - 23 Weeks!

How far along? 23 weeks, 1 day - 118 days to go!
Size of Baby? Savannah Jane is the size of a grapefruit! She's approximately 1.5lbs and close to 12 inches!!! She's getting so big =)
Maternity clothes? Still a mix for tops and dresses, but my work pants are all maternity!
Sleep:  Totally hit or miss, sometimes I feel sleep deprived and that's just not fun. Thankfully our trip to the beach helped me get caught up. Sleeping in until 9 will make a preggo girl feel like a new person!
Best moment this week: Feeling all of baby girls' kicks, melts my heart!
Miss Anything? While on vacation I really missed having a drink with dinner.
Movement: Yes, tons of kicks and flips! At the ultrasound 3 weeks ago, they informed us my placenta is right in front of baby girl. So it's acting as a cushion/pillow for her, making it harder for me to feel her move. The doctor said it's completely normal. Glad to know why I couldn't feel her earlier on!
Food cravings: Anything really. I have been SO hungry lately! SO HUNGRY.
Anything making you queasy or sick: My sense of smell has gotten me sick a few times :-/
Gender: Little baby GIRL!
Labor Signs: No, hopefully not for a while.
Symptoms: My back has started aching over the last week or so which is not exciting. My legs have also been getting swollen by the end of the day. All the normal stuff!
Belly Button in or out? In!
Wedding rings on or off? On!
Mood: Fairly decent! I had a little 24 hour bug right before we left for Florida, but other than that I have just been so excited and happy!!
Looking forward to: Bec and I bought a Groupon for prenatal yoga classes and I can't wait to go on Monday!
A few pictures from the week..
How adorable is my husband?!

Dining Room Redo

One room we didn't paint when first moving in was the dining room. So, we decorated around the color which was fine until we redid the kitchen a few months ago. The kitchen flows right into the dining room and between the wall color and decor - it didn't match one bit! So Clay gave me the green light to let this be my next project! Check out a couple before pictures of the room...
I knew I wanted the paint color to be neutral so the first thing I did was decide on a fabric to recover the dining room chairs with and use the same for curtains. Luckily, that part was unusally easy! I found this sweet print from World Market for $34.99 a panel. I snagged 4 - 2 for the window and 2 for the chairs.

So one night Clay was out of town, I busted out the screw driver and took off all 6 cushions, loaded up my car and fabric and went to my parents! My mom covered all the cushions and even had enough fabric left to make napkins and a runner - can't wait for those. The chairs look amazing! Thanks madre!
8 screws per chair - this took FOREVER!

Before!

After!
We used Tattered Sail by Olympic from Lowe's on the walls. I purchased the three large frames from IKEA and had some wedding pictures blown up to fit. So here we are! I still need to pick up a few things for the a centerpiece for the table, but there's no rush on that now.
What do you think? I love how much brighter it is now and the room flows so well with the kitchen.

Next project, the nursery!

Name for Little Miss + To Do List

As many of you already know, we found out Friday night that we are expecting a sweet, baby girl! WOW - was I wrong! I totally thought we were having a boy. Clay and I are so excited for Little Miss, bring on the dresses and bows! We received a great report of health at the ultrasound and couldn't have been anymore relieved. Thank you Lord for answering our prayers! And yes, we do have a sweet name picked out....

                                                                 Savannah Jane
                                                                    SWJ

Friday night turned out to be a huge success. We had some family and friends over to find out with us and I am really happy we did it that way. It made the surprise so much better getting to share that special moment with them! As soon as I get the pictures back from my girlfriend, I will be sure to post lots of pictures and details from the party!
We did knock out registering this past weekend since we will be out of town or have an event(s) every weekend in October. Let me just tell you, registering was purely exhausting and terrifying. Thankfully we only went to Babies R Us and Target, I registered at PB Kids online. Honestly though, how in the world are you supposed to know what your child will like until they are actually here? We gave it our best shot, we'll see what happens.

Next big events coming up with Baby Watson in October?
  • Touring a daycare we are interested in
  • The big glucose test at my next appointment
  • Having the nursery painted
